Legislative Resources, Issue Papers, and Talking Points
GAMES supports industry partners, American Association for Homecare and VGM. Use the links below for issue papers and talking points on national issues facing the DME industry.
The HME Industry may be small as compared to the rest, but we play an integral role in the lives of millions of Americans. CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) audits and competitive bidding policies are challenging HME business large and small of all sizes, forcing patients to go without the products and services they need.
VGM Government Relations is here to help you navigate the complexities of the legislative process and regulatory rules with two goals in mind: you have freedom to do business and your voice is heard.
AAHomecare is the voice for homecare in Washington. The Association lobbies Congress, the Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other agencies to make sure Medicare and other federal programs do not unfairly burden homecare or create an unfavorable business environment.Medicare is the largest payer of home medical equipment and services and what happens under Medicare often affects Medicaid and private insurance. AAHomecare focuses on Medicare and how Part B coverage addresses homecare reimbursement and scope of benefits.Whether it is a legislative issue being debated on Capitol Hill or a Medicare regulation being proposed by CMS, AAHomecare represents and fights for the interests of homecare companies that provide home medical equipment, products and supplies and the manufacturers whose customers supply those items to Medicare beneficiaries.
AAHomecare’s team of government relations specialists work closely with the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to educate and lobby policymakers about the issues that impact the homecare community. The Association also leads the effort on grassroots activities to make sure homecare providers and other stakeholders work collectively and are forceful advocates for policies that demonstrate the value and cost effectiveness of homecare. AAHomecare also works closely with consumer groups to protect patients' access to homecare.
